When Darrell Thomas began practicing real estate over 25 years ago new real estate agents went to work with the medium-sized companies for training, then split off to open boutique agencies. As the market grew, Charlotte shifted to a market where national franchise names became prominent. Except for the rare local or regional agency, today's home buyer or seller starts with a name that is known.

Then in 2000, Leigh Thomas Brown joined the family business.

In 2003, the family opened their own RE/MAX franchise. RE/MAX Signature Properties represents the dream of its founders (Darrell Thomas, Leigh Brown and Sandra Thomas) to bring together real estate professionals of a like mind to practice residential real estate in today's market.

Today, Leigh stays totally immersed in helping folks buy and sell houses, while DT remains active, but has shifted his focus to mentoring other real estate professionals.
